Introductory

Stage 1 - 3

 
 
 
 
 
 
PURPOSE
 designed to introduce learners to basic communication skills.
 
 
 
Learners will:
  1. speak one poem from memory, and
  2. maintain a short conversation with the examiner about:
 
  • STAGE 1 - a favourite toy or object
  • STAGE 2 - a picture, photograph or postcard
  • STAGE 3 - a favourite book
 

Reading for Performance

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

PURPOSE
 Learning how to construct a performance recital
 
 
 
Learners will:
  • perform a recital consisting of poems and prose readings and links (introduction, linking statements, conclusions) 
 
  • ENTRY LEVEL (age 8+)
  • Level 1 (age 9 - 12)

 

Speaking in Public

 

 

 

 

 

 

PURPOSE
 designed to introduce
learners to basic skills in public speaking
 
 
The exam is composed of TWO parts:
1. Prepared Speech
  • deliver a prepared speech
 
2. Conversation
  • have a conversation with the examiner from a choice of prepared topics
 
Topics for prepared speechs:
  • ENTRY LEVEL (age 8+) - a book of own choice
  • LEVEL 1, Grade 1  - an experience, event or visit of his/her own choice.
  • LEVEL 1, Grade 2  - an object of his/her own choice.
 

5 - 9 yrs

class length: 60 min

8 - 12 yrs

class length: 60 min
